To stop bleeding

Dronaid BandageTM is a haemostatic bandage dressing, intended for use to stop bleeding until medical help is provided. Due to its unique properties, the Bandage stops moderate to severe bleeding within 15 – 120 seconds.

Dronaid BandageTM is an activated carbon dressing, sterile, single use, non-absorbable dressing and easy to use. The application is very simple. Dronaid BandagesTM are sterilised by gamma irradiation and packed individually to keep it sterile.

Application of Bandage

To stop surface bleeding : It is recommended to place the dry bandage with the carbon layer on the wound and press it gently for 15 – 120 seconds. Once the bleeding stops, the bandage can be removed and the wound is further treated in regular manner.

Recommended frequency of change:

The frequency of change of dressing depends entirely upon the nature and condition of the wound. It is recommended, for heavily exuding or infected wounds may require replacement of bandage every 6 Hrs, initially. As and when the wound becomes better and cleaner, Dronaid BandageTM can be left infact for even upto two days.

Always wet the bandage very well, before removing it.

Mechanism

Is based on extraordinary sorption properties of the microfilament form of the activated carbon, which causes an extensive drainage of exudates, toxins and detrite from the wound. Creates and maintains a favourable microclimate in the long term in the wound or defect. Possess analgesic effect. Removes odour.

Packaging

A single sterile (10x9 cm) Dronaid Bandage is packed individually, so that the sterility is kept intact until the bandage is used. These single units come in small boxes, which contains either 10 units or 20 units in a box and the number of units are mentioned on the cover of the box.

Sterility

Bandage is sterilized using Gamma irradiation.

There are no side effects.

Storage

The bandage must be stored in a dry, cool and ventilated place, under room temperature.
